Parameter provides a wide range of calibration services.

To ensure proper chamber operation, your temperature and RH transmitter should be re-calibrated annually. Parameter provides a NIST traceable calibration service.

Calibrations can be performed using several methods:

Depending on your equipment and specific needs, Parameter may utilize the Rotronic© HygroClip™ or HygroClip-2™, either of which may provide for off-site calibration services, resulting in substantial savings over typical on-site calibration services.

ASSURANCES

All Parameter calibrations are performed using reference standards with calibrations traceable to one of several NIST traceable chilled mirror temperature and dew point sensors maintained by Parameter.

All Parameter calibrations will include “as-found” and “as-left” data.

FULL RANGE CALIBRATION¹

Full range calibration involves calibrating the air temperature sensor and the RH transmitter over the entire range of operation. The temperature is calibrated at a point near the minimum and a point near the maximum.

  • Typically, the minimum temperature calibration point is 10°C.
  • The maximum temperature calibration point varies depending on the range of the chamber, but is usually 45°C.

The minimum/maximum RH will be calibrated at a constant 23°C, over the normal operational range of the transmitter.

  • The minimum RH will be calibrated at 23°C @ 35%.
  • The maximum RH will be calibrated at 23°C @ 80%.

FULL RANGE CALIBRATION WITH VERIFICATION POINT(S)

This type of calibration involves a full range calibration (as defined above) with additional verifications at specific points per customer request.

The customer may request as many verification points as desired (one temperature and one RH equals a single verification point)². The transmitter will be compared to the reference standard at each point and documentation of the temperature and/or RH offset at that point will be provided. No adjustment will be made at the verification point(s).

SINGLE POINT CALIBRATION³

This involves calibrating the air temperature sensor and the RH transmitter at a single point (one temperature and one RH) specified by the customer.

SINGLE POINT, BRACKETED CALIBRATION

This involves calibrating the air temperature sensor and the RH transmitter at a single point (one temperature and one RH) specified by the customer.

  • The customer determines the desired calibration point.
  • The air temperature sensor and RH transmitter are adjusted at this point.
  • The customer determines the max/min bracket values to prove that the sensor is within acceptable tolerances. No adjustment will be made at the max/min values unless the sensor is out of tolerance.

¹ Deviations from the standard full range calibration can be provided. An additional charge may be required for extreme conditions. Request a specific quote from Parameter for details.
² Each verification point will incur an additional charge.
³ Single point calibration without full range calibration guarantees sensor accuracy only at calibration point. Any measurement that deviates from the calibration point is not NIST traceable.
